Updated Character Boards - Opinions Requested

Hey RFOD: Reloaded backers,

There have been a lot of comments on the updated player board look for Run Fight or Die: Reloaded. Taking some of those thoughts in mind and trying to find a happy medium, here's a tweaked version the artist for this game made side-by-side with the original version.

 The colors are more muted and some of the blood has been removed in the new version (you can more clearly see that in the middle frame).

To give you an even better sense of what this would look like along with the graphics, below is the player board with that new art.

 The idea with these boards is that, since this is a first-person game, the zombies are getting closer and closer. The art is meant to convey that urgency while also having a "stoplight" look.

We're open to any thoughts folks have on this and would love to hear from you either in the comments or in messages to [email protected]!

Also, if you haven't filled out your survey, please do so (yes, we'll probably mention this in every update until this campaign locks down).

"The Wanderer"/Player Boards - Survey Update

Hey there Run Fight or Die: Reloaded backers!

Just a quick update a little more than a week after our last one to talk about progress on a couple of fronts.

"The Wanderer"

We've got some work on several fronts with Run Fight or Die: Reloaded, especially in the wake of all of the stretch goals you helped unlock.

One of them at the $60K mark was for a Grey Fox-exclusive character, The Wanderer.

This is the in-progress artwork for that character. We're still working on character balancing and exact abilities, but we hope you enjoy it.

Player Boards

In our last update, there was a mixed response to the new-look player boards for RFOD: Reloaded. Some people were thrilled.... others thought it took things in too gory/scary of a direction.

We don't have anything to announce on this front, but know that we heard you and what you saw is certainly not final. We're still talking with the artist about possible solutions.

What is unlikely is the idea of a double-sided player board that was proposed by several folks as that leads to a bump in production cost and incorporates a visual element from the older game (something we've tried to get away from with the revamp). We won't be able to please everyone with whatever we do, but we expect some of the changes we're looking to make will be in a better direction.

Survey Update

Thanks to everyone who's already filled out their surveys! So far, around 83% of backers have done so.

We had a higher than usual number of backers report not receiving their survey in their inbox. If you didn't see that email from BackerKit, please email us or message us.

A couple of reminders:

- Add-on games that aren't RFOD related are intended for US backers only for reasons spelled out in prior updates.

- Any add-ons are charged later, when the games are closer to shipping, not now.

- Not filling out your survey by the lockdown date can result in either increased charges or cancellation, especially if you're an international backer.

All Surveys Now Going Out - New Board Look

A couple of quick notes to follow up on yesterday's update.

Surveys Now Out

As of now, all surveys for Run Fight or Die: Reloaded have been emailed out to backers. Please check the inbox of the email you used for Kickstarter. If for whatever reason you can't find it, please shoot us a message or email to [email protected] and we'll hook you up with a link.

As a reminder, without the info from these surveys we will be unable to fulfill your game in a timely fashion as we will not have a confirmed address for you. If you're a US customer that will possibly cause delays and if you're an international customer, your shipping/customs costs may increase.

And as a second reminder, remember all add-on games that aren't Run Fight or Die: Reloaded are intended as US only.

New Board Look

In the meantime, we're receiving new art for the new look of Run Fight or Die: Reloaded. Below is the old look for the board, with newer graphics from Run Fight or Die: Reloaded.

 We have yet to get a 100% final look just yet, but here's a taste of the new art set to go behind those graphics.

Surveys Starting to Go Out - Add-On Game Info

Hey there Run Fight or Die: Reloaded backers!

Since that exciting sprint to the finish we haven't been relaxing much, but we hope you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend.

Now that the 14 day window for Kickstarter to process pledges has passed, we're starting to send out surveys via BackerKit.

We have just sent out an initial "smoke test" to 88 backers, so only a small handful of you will see those today. There will be another update for when the rest of the surveys have gone out.

Some important info:

1) Please fill out the surveys as soon as you receive them.

As mentioned  before, without the info from these surveys we will be unable to fulfill your game in a timely fashion as we will not have a confirmed address for you. If you're a US customer that will possibly cause delays and if you're an international customer, your shipping/customs costs may increase.

You will be able to change your shipping address in that system until much much closer to the fulfillment of the game itself.

2) Add-on games that aren't Run Fight or Die: Reloaded are meant to be US only

There will be previous Grey Fox Games available for purchase through the BackerKit survey should you be interested. These are meant to be added only by US backers and the shipping pricing is indicative of that. This is for a couple of reasons....

Because of how we intend to fulfill games, sending them straight to the factory to distribution centers around the globe, we can not bundle other titles as those would be coming from our warehouse here in St. Louis. Additionally, these extra games complicate fulfillment for those fulfillment centers.

Separately, we don't have the rights to all of our titles in all regions, so we are not allowed to sell within those places.

3) Please message us with any issues/questions

You're obviously more than welcome to comment on this update or campaign at any time, but if you have something you want to bring to our attention, the best way to do it so that we see it is to send it to [email protected] or by sending us a Kickstarter message.

The Finish Line

Hey there Run Fight or Die Reloaded backers,

This update will have a few things to it: the last stretch goal that you unlocked, a summary of everything that was unlocked and a look ahead at what's next. But the biggest thing we want to make clear ahead of all of that is thank you!

When we set out to bring Run Fight or Die back to life, we were hoping there were folks out there who enjoyed this game as much as we do, who believed in the changes we were looking to make and/or just wanted to have some fun with friends and family chucking dice and battling against the apocalypse. We're blown away at the response, the engagement and the support from all of you. It makes it all the more important that we return the favor and deliver on making a game that can be a treasured part of your collection for years to come. Thank you for everything!

Now on to the nitty gritty.

$115K Stretch Goal Unlocked

 With a little bit of time to spare, you unlocked the 16th stretch goal of this campaign, a Grey Fox-exclusive Flashlight Loot card! 

It really puts a spotlight (no pun intended) on how busy this stretch run was... Before the final 48 hours started, we were sitting shy of the $90,000 stretch goal for an event die.

To give you a behind-the-scenes look, this is what that finish looks like visually. If you match up dates, you can also see when we were at Gen Con. Our best guess is a lot of you were pretty busy there too!

Here's a full listing of everything that you unlocked!

- A solo campaign

- An event die promo

- Three additional Characters: The Soccer Mom, The Businessman and The Wanderer  

- Four additional Followers: Punk Brawler, Panicked Doctor, Nervous Thief, Prepared Survivalist 

 - Two additional Locations: The Cabin in the Woods and Crystal Lake

 - Four additional Loot cards: Fireworks, Lawnmower, Barricade and Flashlight

 - Component upgrades including larger dice, thicker tiles and tokens and spot UV for the game box

We think all of these make for an even better game and we hope you're excited about what's being added too!

What's Next

We've still got a good amount of work to do on this game behind the scenes before we can make this a reality... both on the art and components as well as development. We'll be providing updates as they come up through the campaign.

The next step from a backer's perspective is going to be filling out the pledge manager on BackerKit. We're building that now, but won't be able to send those out for another couple of weeks. In that pledge manager, you'll be able to upgrade your pledge or add-on other games from us.

When we do send those surveys out, it is very important you fill those out ASAP and even more important if you're an international backer. Without that information we will have zero idea where to send your game and, if you're not in the US, it's possible you'll face increased shipping charges, customs charges and delays.

An Australian backer from our Deception campaign found that out the hard way just the last week and we don't want it to happen to any of you!
